Education - Expand your Horizons

Through Junior Year

• Study abroad in places where the curriculum includes experiences with Education (go to Off-Campus Studies)
• Take education-focused Whitman courses (go to Education - While at Whitman), pair volunteer and internship experience with classroom learning (go to Career and Community Engagement Center)
• Keep up with news about education
• Do an internship in an education profession; narrow professional interests through summer work (go to Career and Community Engagement Center)

Junior and Senior Year and Beyond

• Prepare for post-grad life by researching requirements for graduate programs and jobs (go to Education - Beyond Whitman)
• Include a focus on education-related topics in your Senior Assessment in the Major (thesis, final project, etc.)
• Network with education professionals, locally, within the Whitman Alumni network, and in other communities where you've made connections
• Attend information and recruiting sessions from organizations like Galileo Learning or Teach For America.
