Summer Dance Lab

After many decades of nurturing young dancers, 2024 was the final season of the Summer Dance Lab. After much consideration and a thorough evaluation of its finances, Whitman College made the difficult decision to no longer host the Summer Dance Lab.

Unfortunately, Summer Dance Lab has not been fiscally sustainable for several years and we are unable to continue offering it as a program of the college. However, should Summer Dance Lab organize as its own 501(c)(3) organization, and wish to lease space and other services from Whitman College during future summers, we would be glad to serve as host to it. 

This decision was not made lightly, as we recognize the deep significance the Summer Dance Lab holds for the dance community and the role it has played in nurturing young dancers over the decades. We are grateful for everyone who participated in the program, and hope that they cherish the memories made there.
