Sandy Flores '08 is first Latina lawyer sworn into the bar in Walla Walla
When Sandy Flores '08 was sworn into the Washington State Bar Association last month, she became the first Latina lawyer sworn into the bar in Walla Walla County. Flores graduated from Whitman with a degree in mathematics and economics, and participated in the WISE program and mentoring.
A native of Walla Walla, Flores' interest in law was sparked by seeing the struggles her father faced as an agricultural laborer. After passing the state bar exam this summer, she hopes to soon set up a practice in Walla Walla.
