Women’s basketball team bows out in NCAA Elite 8

Congratulations to Whitman's women's basketball team, whose victory-filled season came to an end today when bowing out in the Elite 8 round of the NCAA Division III tournament. The team lost their match against the University of St. Thomas 65-48 in St. Paul, Minnesota, this evening.

Top Whitman scorers with 10 points apiece were two economics-mathematics majors, Chelsi Brewer '18 and Alysse Ketner '17.

This year's success—a 26-5 record and the Northwest Conference title—continues a storied program under longtime head coach Michelle Ferenz. The team has posted a winning record for each of the last seven seasons, and made it to the NCAA championship game in 2013-14.
