Edward Daschle ’15
Edward Daschle ’15, an English major, will attend graduate school at the University of Maryland's MFA program in creative writing. Edward earned a competitive, fully-funded Teaching Assistantship to write fiction. He'll focus on the tension inherent in learning to embrace queerness as expressed through macabre and magical transformations.
Of his time at Whitman, Edward notes: “While at Whitman I took as many creative writing workshop courses as I could in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Each course drew out my writerly voice in different ways, teaching me what felt authentic and what felt necessary in my work. On a practical note, with this background in creative writing workshops, I feel comfortable entering the intensely creative and critical space of the University of Maryland's MFA program.”
