The Tekisuijuku is an on-campus residence for students interested in speaking Japanese and learning more about Japanese culture.
The East Wing of Olin Hall has become the home for Whitman College's new Japanese language classroom that includes a special space for the practice and performance of the art of serving tea.
Each year, the Connie Jill Carlstrom Endowed Award in Japanese Studies is presented to a promising student of Japanese language and culture who shows great interest in pursuing a career or graduate studies in some aspect of relations between Japan and the United States.
