Marina Ptukhina (Pa-too-he-nuh) joined Whitman College in 2016. She has been closely involved in the creation of a Math-Stats combined major and a Data Science minor at Whitman. She is interested in statistical modeling, design and analysis of research studies and their applications. Her research includes applications of statistics to economics, biostatistics and statistical education.
Ptukhina earned a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University and a Specialist degree in Management from The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.” She was born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
