Alpine Skiing
The Whitman Alpine Ski Team has been a part of Whitman's campus community since the 1930s. The combined achievements from the over 400 alumni who raced for Whitman include:
- 1 Olympic Bronze Medal
- 6 World University Game Berths
- 16 USCSA National Championships
- 85 Academic All-Americans in USCSA and NCAA Division I
- 269 All-Americans in USCSA and NCAA Division I
Today as a club sport, the team is completely student run. We support a co-ed team of around 15-20 athletes each season and compete in the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) Pacific Northwest conference. Our schedule consists of 8 conference races over the course of 4 weekends followed by regional and national competitions held at various locations across the country.
Ultimately this team is a close-knit group with a lifelong love for snow and skiing!
Captains for the 2023-2024 season are Clarisse Yee (yeec@whitman.edu), Sarah Hoffman (hoffmas@whitman.edu), and Michael Culbert (culbertm@whitman.edu). Please contact us by email for more information about the team!
