Laura Cummings has been working at Whitman College for over 23 years, always with a focus on helping students in their college journey. She grew up in Southeast Washington, and attended the University of Washington in Seattle earning a B.A. in Music and a B.M. in Voice. Laura has played a vital role in supporting study abroad students and faculty-led off-campus programs for many years. In July 2023 she was promoted to Assistant Director of International Student & Scholar Services and began working more closely with the college’s international students. In her spare time Laura enjoys competing and teaching pickleball, leading step aerobics at Whitman and the YMCA, singing at church and community events, listening to music, and spending time with her awesome family! (Fun Fact: Laura performed the National Anthem in the Seattle Kingdome at a Mariners game in the mid 90’s.)
