Susan Holme is passionate about opening doors to intercultural learning and global understanding for undergraduates via education abroad and off-campus studies within the United States. Her own international sojourns include studying and/or working in Austria, Germany, Mexico and Taiwan and leading student study groups to both China and Taiwan. Having worked for Whitman College for over 30 years, Susan has overseen international admission, study abroad, and most recently international student and scholar services at the college. Originally from Philadelphia, Susan earned her BA in history from Colgate University and MA in Asian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a long-standing member of the Forum on Education Abroad and NAFSA, and has served on the advisory boards of several national study abroad providers. In her free time Susan loves to cook Asian food, snorkel in tropical waters, and hike in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
