Alexis Hoopes ’01
Alexis Hoopes ’01 exemplifies years of committed giving to Whitman and Upward Together. She has stayed connected with her alma mater, serving as a current member of the President’s Advisory Board, chairing a former reunion committee and being a loyal donor to the college for 18 consecutive years. Hoopes’ passion lies in providing scholarships and aid to students from all backgrounds. As a student, she was an active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, the Associated Students of Whitman College and the Career Consultant Network.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Whitman, Hoopes went on to earn her MBA at Dartmouth College. She currently serves as Vice President and Global Head of Fashion at eBay. Hoopes comes from a Whitman family; her father, Mike Stipe ’69, is also an active alum. She resides in Santa Monica, California, with her daughter, Eleanor.
Fifty Under 50 is a new initiative recognizing emerging leaders in philanthropy. Members are graduates of the class of 1989 or later and have made gifts and pledges exceeding $50,000 to the campaign.
