Fourth Día de los Muertos festival brings Whitman and Walla Walla together
The annual Día de los Muertos Community Festival brought the Whitman and Walla Walla communities together this past weekend for the fourth consecutive year.
The festival, which includes a procession down Main Street and a concert at the Gesa Power House Theatre, also features the popular Steamroller Print Project, led by Whitman art professor Nicole Pietrantoni. Attendees also enjoyed face-painting, a Shakespearean-themed Pageant of the Dead performed by local student groups and a display of ofrendas, or community altars.
