Whitman Welcomes Students to Campus in a Unique Way [VIDEO]

Move-In Day has always been a big event at Whitman College, generally happening in late August with sunshine and smiles aplenty.

Excitement was in the air, even if things looked a little different this past weekend as students came to campus—some for the first time—to kick off Spring Semester 2021.

The first day of the weekend brought a heavy fog, but it didn’t dampen spirits as students began arriving and headed straight to Cordiner Hall for their first round of COVID-19 testing. At residence halls, smiles were covered with masks, but folks were quick to wave and share their enthusiasm about moving in.

The sun came out on Sunday and gave first-year students a better view of the beautiful campus they have been so eager to explore and call home.

Students, Support & Safety First

Whitman has established rigorous testing and safety protocols to help protect both the Whitman and Walla Walla community. 

"We continue to count on every member of our community taking responsibility for the health and safety of every other member of our community," says President Kathleen M. Murray, "by wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, washing their hands and avoiding large gatherings. We’re all in this together."
