About the Magazine

Whitman Magazine is the flagship publication of Whitman College. It supports the college and its strategic goals by telling our best stories, whether about alumni, students, faculty, staff, donors or the institution itself. The articles, photography and videography offered in Whitman Magazine are a reflection of Whitman’s values: Our commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive community; embracing the unique opportunities provided by our location; creating an innovative curriculum; ensuring a Whitman education is accessible to students from all walks of life; and celebrating the impact our alumni have on the world around them after Whitman.

Whitman Magazine is published four times each academic year: Three seasonal issues and a special edition: The Annual Report of Gifts.

To submit a story idea

The Communications staff develops story ideas for Whitman Magazine months in advance of each publication. We encourage staff, faculty, students and alumni to offer suggestions about potential stories and photo opportunities to supplement our own editorial plans.
