Lyons Collection

This collection of thousands of specimens represents decades of interest by Melvin Lyon in the beauty and marvels of insects from around the world.  Using his own preservation techniques, the organisms are as beautiful today and when collected.  The collection was donated to Whitman College in loving memory by his family, many of whom aided in the collection and preservations of these wonderful specimens.
