Senior Assessment

Senior Assessment Format	Required	Details
Senior Project	Yes	Enroll in CS 495 in the Fall of your Senior year and CS 496 in the Spring of your Senior year.
Public Presentation	Yes	Teams are expected to present their senior projects at the Whitman Undergraduate Research Conference.
Written Thesis	No	Candidates for honors in Computer Science may optionally write a thesis as part of individual project work undertaken in CS 498 during Spring semester of the Senior year.
Oral Exam	Yes	The oral exam (typically one hour in length) is given just before Spring break. The exam takes the form of question and answer; no formal presentation is required. The date, time, and the interviewers will be announced by the department chair.
Written Exam(s)	Yes	The Computer Science Major Field Test is typically administered on the first Saturday of the Spring semester.
