Eligibility requirements:
• U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident
• Sophomore or junior
• Commitment to either a career related to the environment or to Native American tribal policy or healthcare (Native American applicants only, for tribal policy and healthcare)
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Full-time student during year following application
Award summary and conditions: The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college juniors and sophomores for their leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to the environment and Native American nations. The scholarship honors the legacies of Morris Udall and Stewart Udall, whose careers had a significant impact on Native American self-governance, healthcare, and the stewardship of public lands and natural resources. Recipients in their sophomore year may reapply in their junior year. Benefits include:
• $7,000 (maximum) for tuition, room and board and other educational expenses
• All-expenses paid, five-day Udall Scholar Orientation in Tucson, Arizona
• Access to Udall alumni listserv of environmental and tribal professionals

• Institutional nomination form from campus representative
• Application form
• Essay (800 words)
• Unofficial transcript(s)
• List of courses in which applicant is currently enrolled
• Letters of recommendation (3)
Campus nomination: Yes. Whitman may submit up to eight nominees (four in the environmental category, four in the Native American tribal policy and healthcare category)
