Confidentiality

Professional ethics and state law dictate that the sessions conducted by Counseling Center staff are confidential in nature. Information about these sessions will be released only upon a student’s written consent, except in circumstances that are life threatening to the individual or others, or as may be required by law. The Counseling Center adheres strictly to this policy.

If you want to know whether a student has been to the Counseling Center it will be necessary to ask the student directly. Students are free to disclose any information about themselves they wish.
