Whitman College Lead Drinking Water Sampling
Whitman College recently tested drinking water on campus and at college-owned rental properties for lead. Levels higher than the federal action level were detected in two of the 49 campus buildings tested, and elevated levels were also found in two of the 65 rental units that were tested. In all cases, we believe we had addressed the concerns and that water is now below the federal action level. We have received independent confirmation that all campus buildings are now below the federal action level, and are awaiting a final independent report for the rental properties, which will be posted here when available.
