About This Handbook
The policies and procedures contained in this handbook are administrative guidelines only and are in no way to be interpreted as a contract between Whitman College and any of its staff. College staff are employed at will. Neither an initial employment offer, nor any statement or representation in this manual or in any other college communication should be construed as an implied contract for permanent employment. Just as you may end your employment at any time for any reason, the College reserves the right to terminate your employment with or without cause.

Should you wish further explanation of these policies, your supervisor, department head, or the Human Resources Office can provide assistance. You may make suggestions regarding personnel policies and procedures through the Personnel Advisory Committee. Contact the Human Resources Office for a list of current committee members .
