Social Security Number
F-1 and J-1 students with employment in the United States must apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). To receive an SSN, the Social Security Administration must verify that you are eligible to work in the United States, that you are a full-time student, and that you have received an offer of on-campus employment or authorization to work off-campus.
You will need to apply for an SSN in person at the nearest Social Security Administration office. New international students must be validated in SEVIS before applying for the SSN.
We will help new students to apply for SSN during orientation.
