Off-Campus Rentals Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted as a first-come-first-serve basis. The application will be posted on main webpage and mentioned on the student listserv when applications are open for the next lease cycle.

You must be a current Whitman student with an academic level of Junior or Senior.

Important Update on Whitman Student Rentals
Existing tenants will finish out their lease with Off-Campus Rentals through 5/31/25. Starting Fall 2025, the process for the 2025–2026 year for Whitman student rental properties will be managed by the Residence Life and Housing Office. The goal is to streamline the housing process for students, update the lottery system, and make sure there is time between tenants for maintenance and renovations. Following is a general overview of what things will look like moving forward.
Students will still rent and live in the rentals in a fairly autonomous manner like they have in the past. However, the process for signing up and renewing will be changing. Please read the following closely and contact the Residence Life and Housing Office at on_campus_housing@whitman.edu or come by Memorial 130 if you have any questions.
If you are a current 2024–2025 student tenant, please watch your email for information on how to renew your housing for next year or contact us directly.

All Whitman Off Campus Rentals include
- City of Walla Walla: Water/Sewer/Garbage
- Cascade Natural Gas if applicable
- Pacific Power & Light
Application Requirements & Reminders
- The application will become available on January 22nd, 2024 starting at 6 AM.
- Please only have one person apply for your whole group – multiple submissions for the same group will only be counted once.
- Make your selections (1st through 3rd choice) on your online application.
- List your full name and the full names of the Whitman students with whom you plan to share the lease.
- If anyone in your group is planning to study abroad or graduate early, you must make sure that someone else is renting their space during the corresponding semester. All names for both semesters must be listed on the application or you will not be offered a property.

- Available rentals posted above: Tuesday January 16, 2024
- Applications OPEN: Monday January 22, 2024 at 6 a.m.
- Applications DUE: Friday February 16, 2024 4 p.m.
- Notices sent out: Friday February 23, 2024
- Leases signed and deposits paid by: Friday, March 8, 2023
