Required Forms
Before beginning work at Whitman, student employees must complete the forms listed below with the Human Resources department.
- Form I-9 (Federal Eligibility Verification)
- In order to complete the Form I-9, you will need to present original documentation that establishes identity and employment authorization. The most commonly used documentation students use are either a passport OR a photo ID with a social security card OR a photo ID with a birth certificate. Copies cannot be excepted, with the exception that we can accept a certified copy of a birth certificate. Other forms of acceptable identification can be found here. International students should present their passport, Form I-20 and Form I-94.
- This must be signed on the first day of work or prior to the first day of work.
- W-4 (Employee Withholding Allowance form for Federal Taxes)
- Electronic Direct Deposit Form
Other Potential Forms
Whitman College Disclosure Statement Form - This form ONLY needs to be completed if you will be working unsupervised with children, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults.
A background check through the Office of Human Resources will also be done when students are in any position that may involve unsupervised access to children, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults as defined by the law.
