Female
In this picture, forceps are suspending the bilateral horns of the uterus (solid yellow rectangle), which merge distally to form the main body of the uterus.
Fertilized eggs travel from the oviducts into the uterus for implantation. The zygote develops into a fetus within the uterus.
The body of the uterus, vagina, vaginal vestibule, and the urogenital opening are not shown here. These passageways are dorsal to the urethra and pelvic bone. In this photo, the urinary bladder, which is reflected posteriorly (with the two umbilical arteries), is obstructing these deeper features and even the external urogenital papilla.
