Fine Arts House
Established in 1982, the Fine Arts House (FAH) has 4 bedrooms and comfortably houses an average of six residents and one Resident Assistant. The residents of the Fine Arts House work to promote programs emphasizing studio art, theatre, and music. For example, traditional events that take place here include Artists Colony, a weekly program open to the whole campus where students have the opportunity to experiment with different kinds of art: painting, drawing, jewelry making, and henna tattoos, to name a few.
Often times, Whitman Art students will showcase their work at the house.
The Fine Arts House is affiliated with the Whitman Art Department and is assigned an adviser from that department. At least once in the semester, the house adviser is invited over for dinner to discuss the programs that the Fine Arts House residents are planning for the semester.
Residents of the Fine Arts House are responsible for completing weekly chores, having active involvement within the house and the Interest House Community, and promoting FAH-sponsored events and activities.
If you would like to arrange to eat dinner at the FAH, or have any questions about house activities, please contact the RA.
