La Casa Hispana
Established in 1977, La Casa Hispana (The Spanish House) has five bedrooms and comfortably houses an average of 7 residents and one Resident Assistant.
This house focuses on promoting the Spanish language and Spanish or Latin American culture. For example, some traditional events that have taken place here include playing Lotería, the screening of Spanish-language movies, and potlucks featuring Spanish or Latin American foods.
La Casa is affiliated with the Hispanic Studies department and is assigned an adviser from that department. At least once in the semester, the house adviser is invited over for dinner to discuss the programs that La Casa’s residents are planning for the semester.
Residents of La Casa are responsible for completing weekly chores, having active involvement within the house and the Interest House Community, and promoting La-Casa-sponsored events and activities.
If you are interested in eating dinner at La Casa, or have any questions about house activities, you may do so by contacting the RA.
