How To Join
Supporting you as you become the best version of you at Whitman College:
Sorority and fraternity membership is a transformational experience where you can explore who you are, what matters to you, and what value you want to bring to the world. Find your people in Recruitment.
All sororities and fraternities have basic expectations of membership, including:
- Time commitment: including weekly Chapter meetings, new member education, Sorority & Fraternity Life events, other Chapter’s events you want to support, and events hosted by the Chapter. Ask a member what the average time commitment is for new members, general members, committee members, committee chairs, executive officers and the President.
- Financial obligations: Each sorority/fraternity differs in its financial structure. Dues costs can include things like activities, events, operations, insurance costs and philanthropic endeavors, for example.
- Expectations: of moral standards of comportment and behavior.
- Academic requirements: Members are students first.
